We believe financial education should start before the first mistake

eclipse-juice began in 2019 when a former teacher and a financial advisor realised they were both seeing the same problem from different angles.

The teacher watched students struggle with basic money concepts—pocket money, saving for trips, understanding why their parents couldn't always buy what they wanted. The advisor saw young adults signing contracts they didn't understand, taking on debt without knowing the real cost, and avoiding financial planning because it felt overwhelming.

They decided to build something that intervened earlier. Not with boring worksheets or abstract theory, but with practical, age-appropriate learning that children and teenagers could actually use.

Our approach is hands-on, not hypothetical

We don't just talk about budgeting—we help young people create real budgets for their own lives. We don't lecture about saving—we design goal-setting systems they can implement immediately.

Workshop environment with young learners

Every workshop and course is interactive. Participants work through scenarios, make decisions, see consequences, and adjust their strategies. Learning by doing, not by memorising.

Who we work with

We partner with families, schools, and youth organisations across Liverpool and the wider North West. Our programmes have reached over 800 young people since we started.

Some come to us because they want to teach their children good habits early. Others because their teenager is about to leave home and doesn't know how to manage a bank account. Both are valid starting points.

"I wish I'd had something like this when I was younger. My daughter learned more about managing money in six weeks than I learned in my entire childhood."

— Parent, Liverpool

What drives us

Financial stress affects families across all income levels. When children understand money early, they're better equipped to make smart decisions, avoid predatory lending, plan for goals, and build security.

We're not trying to turn seven-year-olds into investors or teach teenagers to obsess over every penny. We're giving them the foundations to think clearly about money, ask good questions, and develop confidence in their financial choices.

That's a skill set that compounds over time, just like interest.
